Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Pilgrim will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. No formal visitation is planned but her remains will be available for viewing after 10:30 AM Monday at the mortuary. Private burial will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Eunice Evelyn Young Pilgrim, 87, of 168 Old Blacksmith Road, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Manna Health & Rehab in Pickens. Born in Six Mile she was the widow of Wade Hampton Pilgrim and a daughter of the late Jay Austin and Pauline Farmer Young.
She retired from JP Stevens and loved cooking and gardening.
Surviving are a son, Garland Pilgrim (Betty) of Six Mile; a granddaughter, Trish Ingle (Keith) of Six Mile; two grandchildren, Matthew and Emma Ingle; two sisters, Carolyn Wade of Six Mile, and Varina Turner of Liberty; three brothers, Joe Dean, Coy, and Gary Young all of Six Mile.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Pilgrim, two sisters, Martha Bagwell Childers, and Jean Young Reeves, and three brothers, Jay “Bud”, Tommy, and Weldon Young.
