Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Gillespie will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Emily Lee Gillespie, 90, widow of Benjamin H. Gillespie, Sr. of 130 Norris Avenue, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her residence. Born in Daytona, Florida she was a daughter of the late William and Mattie Lee.
She retired from the Department of Social Services and she loved animals and classical music.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Gillespie of Liberty; a son, Ben Gillespie (Jeanne) of Easley; and three great grandchildren, Olivia, Madison, and Kathryn.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Amanda and Keri Gillespie.
The family will be at the home, 130 Norris Avenue, Liberty SC. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville SC 29605.
