Ellen Florence Knight, 87, of Greer, South Carolina, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Brushy Creek Rehabilitation Center. Born in Macon, Georgia she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Rosa Gibson Whitfield.

She worked for many years for the Greenville County School District in the cafeteria at Brushy Creek Elementary School, and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, Joe Knight of Greer; 1 son, William D. “Darrell” Knight (Candy), of Greer; a grandson, Brayden Knight; 1 brother, Doug Whitfield, of Central; 1 sister, Frances Bryant, of Greenville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society by visiting their website, www.cancer.org.

Private graveside services will be held at Norris Cemetery at a later date.

It's sad, but no more suffering, rest in peace Aunt Kit, I love you. Many great memories of Aunt kit through my childhood and adulthood. She was a great woman.

I skipped school all the time one day I was hiding under my bed and Kitty and her sister Frances Bryant came in my room sat on bed I came out and touched Frances and scared both of then. Mrs. Bryant has always remember that. Thank you Kitty for all the memories. Love, Debbie

We give our condolences to Mr Knight and family in losing someone very dear to them. In growing up I knew the Whitfield family mostly Mr Doug and Robert Whitfield more than the other children, but hopefully we being a sinner saved by grace through CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR , we will meet HIM IN HEAVEN! Hopefully those in the family will come to know HIM also, so that they might meet again in HEAVEN. Our prayer is to this is for all of your family and for the world.
