Drunell Grant Chapman, 91, passed peacefully to meet the Lord Thursday, November 24, 2016 in her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services to honor Mrs. Chapman’s life will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:30AM until 1:00PM at the church.
Born in Pickens she was the widow of Clyde James Chapman, and a daughter of the late Henry Clyde and Cora Holcombe Grant.
Mrs. Chapman was very active with her church, Holly Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 70 years. She volunteered at Cannon Memorial Hospital, personally visited with shut ins, and also helped with Meals on Wheels. She retired from Sangamo Electric.
Surviving are 6 daughters, Lynda Brucke, Carolyn Durham (Jerry), Janice Beacham (Lee), and Margaret Day (Allen) all of Pickens, Louise Ponder (Tom) of Dacusville, and Mickie Chapman of Pickens; a sister, Betty Hendricks of Six Mile; three brothers, Ralph and Ray Grant both of Pickens, and Pat Grant of Easley; 8 grandchildren, Matt and Paul Brucke, Mark Durham, Kellie Oeffinger, Jennifer Macaluso, Steven Day, Josh Holder, and Stacie Medlin; also surviving are 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Yates, and two brothers, Harold and Sonley Grant.
The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Drunell Chapman to Holly Springs Church, 3450 Table Rock Rd, Pickens, SC 29671 will be forwarded to the Steven and Candace Day Ministry – Heart for Honduras.
