Donald Richard Black, 64, of 748 Pistol Club Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Liberty he was a son of the late Roy Robert and Capitola McAlister Black. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, and worked as a contractor with Uster.
Don enjoyed boating, the beach in Florida, but most of all spending time with his loving wife.
Surviving are his wife, Della Sue Black of the home; 2 sisters-in-law, Gail Santus and Judy Simpson; also surviving is nephew, Michael Santus.
In addition to his father and mother he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Benjamin, and a brother, Robert Black.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Hospice House of Greenville, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville SC 29680.
Services to honor Don’s life will be conducted 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.
