Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Brooks will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at West End Baptist Church. Burial at Liberty Memorial Gardens will follow. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at West End Baptist Church.

Debra Lynne Layman Brooks, 56, of 602 Hunter Mill Road, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, she was the wife of John Mark Brooks of the home and the daughter of the late Billy Allen and Jewell Kelley Layman, Sr. She was a 1979 graduate of Liberty High School. Afterwards she attended Tri-County Technical College and then went on to Southern Wesleyan College. She was a loving mother and Nanny and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, Benjamin Brooks(Nancy) of Easley and Zachary Brooks(Ashton) of Liberty; a brother, Billy Allen Layman, Jr. of Liberty; 3 grandchildren, Colt, Matty and Adelyne Brooks.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Jonathon Levi Brooks and a brother, Jeffrey Scott Layman.
