Cynthia Newsome West, 73, of Rotterdam Road, died Friday, January 28, 2022 at Prisma Health-Baptist Easley. Born in Greenville, she was the wife for 54 years to John G. West and a daughter of the late Forrest Byrd Newsome, Jr. and Jeanette Seigel Newsome. She was a retired school bus driver from the School District of Pickens County and a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Janie West and Katherine McRae(Charles) both of Easley; a sister, Mary McCollough(Garry) of Easley; 3 grandchildren, Dylan Garner, Judson Olivares and Elena Olivares; and one great-grandchild, Eleyana Olivares.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Ted Newsome.
The family will host a memorial service 2:00 PM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Liberty.

Cynthia was always very sweet and friendly to me any time I seen her. Always greeting me with a warm smile. She was my bus driver for a while and it was great to have someone I was familiar with. She also went to school with my parents so she knew my family very well. Both her daughters are very sweet and friendly just like she is. I went to school with Kathy and she is just like her mama, greets you with a warm friendly smile every time she sees you. I'm so sorry for the families loss as I lost my mother a year ago to covid so I know how they feel. I'm sending hugs and prayers to the whole family. I know she will be greatly missed!!
