Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Haynes will be 11:00 AM Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Clyde Samuel Haynes, 98, of 949 N. Norris Drive, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 19, 2017 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in Chesnee he was the widower of Laura Leona Cash Haynes and a son of the late Sam and Ola Wilson Haynes.
He was a former Mayor of Norris, and retired from Pickens County EMS. He was a member of the Tate Masonic Lodge, #292 AFM, and the Hejaz Shrine.
Mr. Haynes was a United States Marine Corp veteran of World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church, Norris.
Surviving are four daughters, Barbara Stewart (Randal) of Pickens, Rachel Harrison of Marietta, GA, Rosemary McManus (David) of Liberty, and Tammy Peeples (Randy)of Liberty; a son, Don Haynes (Ginger) of Norris; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents and he was preceded in death by a son Doug Haynes and his wife Martha, 4 brothers, and his son in law, Bruce Harrison, and two grandsons, Steve and Todd Haynes.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Gideons International, Liberty Camp, PO Box 112, Liberty SC 29657.
The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary is handling arrangements.
