Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Yates will be 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Gary James. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.

Cecil Mae Chapman Yates, 79, of 116 South Main Street, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in Cateechee she was a daughter of the late Clarence Woodruff “Slim” Chapman and Jessie Shepherd Chapman.

She retired from Liberty Denim, and she loved camping, cooking, and the outdoors.

Surviving are her husband, Billy Joe Pilgrim of the home; two daughters, Sharon Holden of Liberty and Phyllis Bagwell of Cateechee; a son, Jeff Dover of Liberty; a sister, Hazel Crenshaw of Six Mile; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Dover, and a grandson, Jeffrey Duran Dover.

The family will be at the home.
