Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Ellenburg will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 6, 2022 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the mortuary.

Bobby Joe Ellenburg, 84, of Liberty, South Carolina, died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Asheville, NC, he was a son of the late Mildred Ellenburg as well parents that raised him, Joe and Launa “Mama Noon” Ellenburg. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Shaw Corp. He was an avid Clemson fan and also loved playing golf and watching any kind of racing. Tex was a member of Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine. He was also a member of  Carmel Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his two daughters, Pam Brown(Jim) of Iva and Traci Bagwell(Stanley) of Dacusville; a son, Joey Ellenburg of Pickens; a step daughter, Joy Merck(Chris); a sister, Jan Jones of Georgertown, SC; four grandchildren, Jeremy Ellenburg(Anita), Hunter Patterson(Ashley), Joseph Albertson(Hayley) and Aaron Patterson; and two step grandchildren, Jay and McKenzie Merck; and a great grandchild Paizley-Rae Patterson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Mauldin Ellenburg; his second wife, Lillie Belle Dalton Ellenburg; a brother, Al “Buck” Jones and a step son Robert Bridges.
