A memorial service for Ms. Verdin will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the home located at 6 Pinewood Drive, Liberty, SC 29657.

Betty Owens Verdin, 70, of 6 Pinewood Drive, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Joe Owens and Vera Moore Owens Mooney. She was retired from KEMET Electronics and was a member of Williamston Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Davison of Manning; 2 sisters, Lynn Owens of the home and Trudy Horton of Greenville; 2 brothers, William Mooney of the home and Victor Mooney of Arlington, TX; 4 grandchildren, Megan McGowan, J.T. Davison, Katelyn Davison and Tabatha Scott; and 5 great grandchildren, Nolan McGowan, Gavin McGowan, Braylen Ballard, Isaac Vega and Eli Vega.
