Funeral services to honor the life of Miss Newton will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Liberty Mortuary.

Almetia Riggins Newton, 84, of 107 Annie Street, Apt. 5, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her residence. Born in Six Mile, she was the daughter of the late Myrtie Riggins Revis. She was retired from Woodside Mills and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Steve Newton(Libby) of Liberty; 3 grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Newton and Tracie Hamilton, and a great granddaughter, Addison Hamilton.

The family will be at the home of her son Steve Newton: 500 E. Main Street Liberty, SC 29657. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
