A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Walters will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Westview Cemetery in Liberty.

Dorothy Carol Swayngham Walters, 75, of 100 Stewart Gin Road, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the home of her son, Scott. Born in Pickens County, she was the widow of J.R. “Joe” Walters and was preceded in death by her father, Albert Eugene Swayngham, and her mother and step father, Sam and Frances Howe Dalton. She previously worked at Sir Shirt Makers and Champion Aviation. She was an avid wrestling fan and loved collecting ceramic and rock eggs from various places. She also enjoyed painting bird houses. Recently she had been attending church at The Bridge Church in Easley.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a step sister, Joan Coleman.

Surviving are a son, J. Scott Walters(Pat) of Liberty; 2 sisters, Shirley Garrison(Milt) and Judy Brooks(Ricky) both of Liberty;a step brother, Roger Dalton of Liberty; 2 grandchildren, Brook Caddell(George) and Paula Richardson; and 2 great grandchildren, Blake and Jordan Richardson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will be at their respective homes. Liberty Mortuary is handling arrangements.
